Long Beach, CA (PRWEB) June 30, 2015 – Promises Behavioral Health has announced that the CassavaSM addiction recovery app, launched in April for iPhone, is now available for Android devices. The free app, which has received a five-star rating on iTunes, features a variety of tools to help individuals in recovery stay on track, including:
Meeting Locator – The app features a database of more than 140,000 12-step and non-12-step support meetings, including Alcoholics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Sexaholics Anonymous, Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous, Overeaters Anonymous and SMART Recovery®. Each entry has directions to the meeting, day and time, and the type of meeting (Big Book, open to newcomers, etc.). Users can rate and provide feedback on meetings on everything from the seating and parking to the quality of the coffee.
Recovery Tips – The app is packed with recovery-related articles and information on emotional, mental and physical health topics, such mindfulness and meditation, triggers, exercise, relationships and relapse.
Personal Journal – A daily diary helps users establish structure in their ongoing recovery. Users can track emotions as well as exposure to triggers – all of which can be helpful in highlighting warning signs of relapse or other problems.
“We’re excited about the Cassava app and how well it has been received by our friends and clients in recovery,” says David Sack, MD, CEO of Promises Behavioral Health. “We know that recovery from any type of addiction is a daily challenge, and the Android version will enable us to extend the reach of the Cassava app to even more people.”
The CassavaSM app is an improved version of Promises Behavioral Health’s highly successful recovery app iPromises, which launched in 2010 and was featured in the December 2010/January 2011 edition of Inc. Magazine. To download the CassavaSM app, go to Addiction.com or visit the Google Play store.
